Well-known resort, Porto Cervo is built around the deep natural harbor, whose shape resembles that of a deer, and overlooks the headlands on the sea, the curve of the harbor and scattered villas, surrounded by greenery. The center is built on a raised plan over the harbor, with its famous square, shops, boutiques, and restaurants all around, hotels, clubs and villas climbing up into the hills. The Porto Vecchio dates back to the sixties, when Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, fascinated by the beauty of this stretch of coast, decided to buy the poor lands of this part of Gallura and with the greatest architects of the period, including stands Luigi Vietti, to give life to the haven of the international elitarian tourism as we know it today.
